The glazed screens between the hall, living room and new day room needed careful consideration, as they’re visible from most areas of the ground floor. We wanted them to be elegant, and provide balance and continuity of design between the existing house and the new extension. We chose Crittal glazing, but to come in on budget, we had the frames manufactured in timber rather than the usual steel.
Lighting was a key element in the design, and we specified and procured fittings from the Elan system. In the living room, we used LED strip lighting hidden in the coffered ceiling to create subtle lighting zones in this large space.
